At 36 weeks pregnant, your baby is about the length of a head of a romaine lettuce. He or she measures about 18.7 inches and weighs around 5.8 pounds.
In the last weeks of pregnancy, most babies will turn toward the birth canal.Very soon, your doctor will check if your baby’s head is down by your cervix. By now your baby should move into this position, but do not worry, if your baby hasn’t turned yet.

You may continue to experience pregnancy symptoms which you had in previous weeks of pregnancy.At this week, you will be able to breathe more deeply. This is because your baby may descend into your pelvis by now and your lungs will have more space.

Your baby is now putting more pressure on your pelvis.

Vaginal discharge may increase as your body is getting ready for birth. So, look out for signs of labor such as-

  • Watery discharge (which can be amniotic fluid)
  • Blood-tinged discharge
  • Mucus-like discharge (which can be mucus plug)

  • Take naps whenever you can.
  • Pack your bag and snacks for the hospital.
