Your baby is getting ready for the big day. He or she is growing longer and heavier day by day. At this week, your baby is looking more and more like a typical newborn.

  • Your baby is at around 15 inches long and weighs nearly 4 pounds.
  • More fat is settling under the skin of your baby at this week.
  • The gradual loss of lanugo will occur at this week.
  • Your baby’s eyes can focus now.
  • Your baby’s reflexes such as thumb sucking are probably occurring.
  • The lungs and nervous system of your baby are nearly developed.

Your expanding uterus may be applying some pressure to the underside of your diaphragm. Due to this, you may feel like you have to urinate frequently and you may find it harder to catch your breath.

  • Backaches
  • Trouble sleeping

  • Start packing your bag with all the items which you want to bring to hospital.
  • You may pick up a nursing bra to protect your clothes from leaky breasts.
  • Call your doctor immediately if you have more than 4 contractions in an hour or if you experience any other signs of preterm labor.
