At this week, your baby is over 18 inches long and weighs 5.3 pounds. Most of the basic physical development of your baby is now complete.

  • Your baby’s kidneys are fully developed now.
  • His or her liver can process some waste products around this time.
  • Your baby will spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

  • By now, your uterus has grown to about 1,000 times its original size.
  • You will continue to experience pregnancy symptoms which you had in last few weeks.
  • You may experience water breaking, something that is less like discharge and more like a flow of water.
  • You may experience Braxton Hicks contractions. But if you experience regular contractions that do not stop, then these may be the real contractions. So, do not wait to call your doctor in such case.

At this week, sleep problems are common. You can follow the below care tips to manage this problem.

  • Try sleeping on your left side.
  • A pregnancy pillow may help.
  • Sleeping in a recliner, on an air mattress or guest bed can also help.

At this week, your doctor may ask you to have a Group B Strep Test. This test is done to check for bacteria called Group B Strep. This bacteria is common and will not make you sick. But it can be harmful for your baby if he or she is exposed to it at birth. So, it is important to know whether you have it or not?
