Now, it’s time to discuss little about diet. Diet can have an impact on your as well as your baby’s health. After all, you are no more single because you are carrying another life too in your womb. So, nourish yourself with a healthy and balanced diet.

Role of Folic acid-
Folate is a vitamin that helps build healthy blood and tissues for you and your baby. Folic acid is a great source of folate and it has a great role to play in your baby’s development. It is better to take Folic acid prior to conception to ensure Healthy spinal cord development in Your Baby. Some women need more folic acid. Talk to your health care provider. Take a prenatal vitamin as well every day.

Food Safety tips-
When you are pregnant, taking extra care of food can maintain your good health. So here are some food safety tips that can help you avoid food poisoning during your pregnancy.

  • Wash your hands before, during, and after handling food.
  • Wash the skin of all raw vegetables and fruits before eating.
  • Cook meat, poultry, fish, and eggs thoroughly.
  • Reheat cooked food until steaming hot.
  • Always check “best before” dates on food packages. Do not eat the food after the expiry date.
  • Eat leftovers stored in the refrigerator within 3 to 4 days.
